UX Design

We built an AI-powered career development platform that integrates badge systems, performance tracking, meeting scheduling, and personalized guidance to help users unlock their full potential and advance their careers.

Problem Space

Professionals often struggle to track their career development, recognize their achievements, and find meaningful opportunities for growth; there's a need for a platform that combines achievement recognition, skill development tracking, and AI-powered guidance in an intuitive, engaging interface.

Catch Up addresses these challenges by creating an engaging, gamified,career development platform that leverages AI to provide personalized guidance.

Badge & Achievement System: "Top Catcher" badges and earned achievements to recognize user accomplishments.

Competitive Research

We researched several similar companies such as Motivosity and Trello to get a feel for what the market was offering in terms of services and structure. We found that most of these companies had a nice balance of playful functionality and meaningful data analytics.

Heuristic Evaluation

We performed a top-down heuristic evaluation of Catch Up's current UI and UX. We found much room for improvement, which was exciting for our team, as we had free creative reign over this project.

User Flows

We mapped out a list of informed user flows based off of our extensive competitive research and heuristic evaluation.

Wireframes

The wireframing process validated component placement, defined interaction states, and established scalable grid systems that balanced motivational elements with professional credibility. By prioritizing structural decisions early, the wireframes enabled efficient collaboration between design and development teams while creating a solid foundation for the platform's gamified career development experience.

Hi-Fi Screens

These screen designs establish a cohesive visual system that balances motivation with professionalism. Each interface prioritizes clear hierarchy and streamlined interactions.

We developed a comprehensive design system that defines Catch Up's visionh through a cohesive network of components, font hierarchy, iconography, and colors.

Reflection

Lessons Learned

Through my experience, I've continued to deepen my understanding of the immense benefits when using Agile methodologies to enhance team cohesion. Agile's iterative approach creates a collaborative environment, encouraging regular communication, the sharing of insights, and close teamwork. This was particularly effective when incorporating AI-related material into a workable model. By adopting Agile practices, we significantly improved our efficiency and productivity while building Catch Up from concept to completion.
